Help! We are short on bikes! Please donate your used bike or consider a donation of $300 so we can purchase a new bike to give to a kid.

Sport Central has 30 drop-off locations across greater Edmonton, where generous Edmontonians take their gently used equipment. All Fire Halls and Police Stations have them, most sporting goods stores and some recreation facilities. Our Sport Central van goes out twice per week to these locations for equipment and bicycle pick-up.

Every year close to 3,000 bicycles are received and processed. We fix 2,000 of them, recycle around 700, and send approximately 300 overseas to third world countries through our partner, The Emmanuel Foundation.  In our 30 years of operation, we have received 40,000 bikes, fixed 27,000, recycled 9,700 and sent almost 5,000 overseas!

We have a separate facility located across the street from our main office, that is solely dedicated to bicycles. Families who are referred to us for bikes, can also schedule an appointment and pick-up bicycles that are pre-selected for their kids based on measurements and other requirements. Our bike program is ALSO an exchange program.  Every 2 years, if a child still qualifies, they may bring back the bike they received from us and exchange it for a new one.  Every new bicycle client also gets a free, brand new helmet.
