Volunteer Positions

At Sport Central, we depend on our volunteers to help maintain our day-to-day operations. This list outlines the volunteer opportunities we have available. We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 hours per shift. Training will be provided for all positions.

Bicycle Pre-Service

Straighten valve stems, inflate tires, turn handlebars, lube seat-posts, strip non-functional accessories, wash and label bikes prior to repair.

Bicycle Parts Salvage

Strip and stock high valued parts and dispose of residuals.

Bicycle Repair

Repair, test ride, and label pre-serviced bikes in accordance with serviceability standards.

Data Entry

Input client data.

Equipment Collection

Gather, load, and unload equipment from the various donation locations across Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Equipment Repair

Salvage components, repair hockey bags, re-palm hockey gloves and repair goalie pads in the leather shop.

Helmet Repair

Strip cages and replace screws, clips and straps on CSA approved hockey and skating helmets. Strip and stock excess parts.

Reception

Receive incoming phone calls and general inquiries from clients and donors.

Sport Equipment Sorting

Sorting through donated equipment to determine whether it is ready to use, needs to be repaired, or if it has reached the end of its life.

Snowboard & X-Country Ski Technician

Remove and install new bindings on snowboards and cross-country skis.

Skate Sharpener

Replace damaged blades and holders. Sharpen skates.
